Helem
הֵלֶם / חֵלֶם/HEE-lem/
“A stroke; or dream/robust (Chaldean)”
Summary
Helem was either a descendant of Asher or an alternate name for Heldai, the returned exile mentioned by Zechariah.
☩Men Named Helem
Two men may bear this name: (1) A brother of Shamer (or Shomer) and great-grandson of Asher, possibly the same as Hotham in verse 32; (2) One associated with Zechariah in the symbolic crowning of the high priest Joshua, apparently the same person called Heldai in Zechariah 6:10, with the name variation possibly due to transcription or representing a secondary name meaning "dream" or "robust."
