הַקָּטָן/HAK-uh-tan/

The little one or the younger

Summary

Hakkatan, whose name means "the little one" or "the younger," was the father of Johanan who led 110 men of the family of Azgad back from Babylon with Ezra.

Father of Johanan

Hakkatan was a descendant of Azgad whose son Johanan returned from Babylon with Ezra, leading 110 male members of their family. The Hebrew name with its article (ha-Katan) literally means "the little" or "the junior," possibly distinguishing him from another person of the same family name. This may indicate he was a younger brother or smaller in stature.
