Elnaam

אֶלְנַעַם/el-NAY-am/

God is his delight

Summary

The father of Jeribai and Joshaviah, two of David's distinguished mighty warriors.

Father of Warriors

Elnaam was the father of Jeribai and Joshaviah, two of David's distinguished warriors listed among his mighty men. According to the Septuagint, he himself may have been one of the warriors, but the Masoretic text identifies him only as the father of these two men. His name, meaning 'God is his delight' or 'God is delightfulness,' reflects the godly hope of his parents.
