Chelubai was a son of Hezron and is identified elsewhere as Caleb. He was brother to Jerahmeel, whose descendants settled in the southern territory of Judah. The house of Caleb (Chelubai) possessed territory in the same region, establishing a significant family line within the tribe of Judah.
