The head of a family who returned from Babylonian exile with Zerubbabel, and one who sealed the covenant.

Bigvai was among those who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel, heading a large contingent of 2,056 retainers. A further group of seventy-two returned later with Ezra. One named Bigvai sealed the covenant of faithfulness with Nehemiah.
