Summary

The daughter of Herod Agrippa I who was present with her brother Agrippa II when Paul made his defense at Caesarea.

Paul's Defense

Bernice came to Caesarea with her brother King Agrippa II to welcome the new governor Festus. When they heard about Paul's case, Agrippa requested to hear him. Paul made his famous defense before them, during which Agrippa said, 'Almost you persuade me to become a Christian.'

Historical Context

Bernice was first married to her uncle Herod of Chalcis, then later to Polemon king of Cilicia. After leaving him, she lived with her brother Agrippa, causing scandal. She eventually became the mistress of both Vespasian and Titus.
