Summary

The name of two men: a prince of Asher who helped divide the land of Canaan, and a descendant of Benjamin.

Prince of Asher

Ahihud the son of Shelomi was the prince and representative of the tribe of Asher, appointed by Moses to help supervise the division of the land of Canaan among the tribes after the conquest. He served alongside the princes of other tribes to ensure equitable distribution of the promised land.

A second Ahihud was one of the sons of Bela, of the tribe of Benjamin, mentioned in the genealogical records. The text in this passage is obscure, and scholars have noted possible textual corruption.
