Abital was the fifth of David's wives listed in the account of his sons born at Hebron. Her son Shephatiah is mentioned fifth in the list of David's sons born during the seven years he reigned in Hebron before capturing Jerusalem. Beyond this brief notice, nothing more is recorded of her in Scripture.
