Peter's Vision

The Greek 'othone' denotes a linen cloth, originally meaning a sail. In Peter's vision at Joppa, he saw a great sheet descending from heaven, let down by its four corners, containing all manner of animals—clean and unclean—with the command to 'kill and eat.' This vision prepared him to preach to Cornelius and the Gentiles.
