Nobleman

Summary

A nobleman in Scripture refers to a person of royal or high official rank, appearing notably in Jesus' parables and miracle accounts.

The Nobleman's Son

John records that a 'nobleman' (basilikos, literally 'royal official') came to Jesus at Cana, begging him to heal his dying son in Capernaum. Jesus healed the boy from a distance, and the nobleman and his whole household believed. This was Jesus' second sign in Galilee.
