A wilderness region in the southern part of Canaan through which Israel passed and where Miriam died and was buried.
☩Geographic Region
The Wilderness of Zin was a barren region forming part of the southern boundary of Canaan, distinct from but adjacent to the Wilderness of Paran. Kadesh-barnea, where Israel camped for much of their wilderness wanderings, was located in Zin. It was here that Miriam died and was buried, and where Moses struck the rock at Meribah.
