Summary
Ramoth ('heights') is the name of several elevated places in Israel, most notably Ramoth-gilead east of the Jordan, a city of refuge and site of Ahab's fatal battle.
☩Various Locations
Several places bore the name Ramoth due to their elevated positions. Ramoth of the South (Ramoth-negeb) was one of the places to which David sent spoil. Ramoth in Issachar was a Levitical city. The most significant was Ramoth-gilead, which is treated separately.
