Rakkath was a fortified city in the tribe of Naphtali, mentioned in Joshua 19:35 between Hammath and Chinnereth. It was located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, near the warm baths of Tiberias. According to Jewish tradition in the Talmud, Rakkath stood on the spot where Tiberias was afterwards built. The name means 'shore,' fitting its lakeside location.
