☩Biblical Reference
Pau is mentioned as the capital city of Hadar (or Hadad), one of the early kings of Edom. The name appears as 'Pau' in Genesis and 'Pai' in Chronicles. Despite being identified as a royal residence, its exact location remains unknown, though one scholar noted a resemblance to Phauara, a ruined place in Idumaea.
