Nimrah, also called Beth-nimrah, was a city east of the Jordan that was rebuilt by the tribe of Gad.

Location and History

Nimrah (meaning 'leopard' or 'clear water') was one of the cities mentioned by the tribes of Gad and Reuben when they requested the land east of the Jordan as their inheritance. It was rebuilt by Gad and is also called Beth-nimrah. The city lay in the Jordan valley near the waters of Nimrim mentioned by the prophets.
