A gate of the ancient city of Heshbon, near which were pools compared to the eyes of the beloved in the Song of Solomon.

Poetic Reference

In the Song of Solomon, the bridegroom compares the eyes of his beloved to 'the pools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bath-rabbim.' The clear, deep pools near this gate served as an apt metaphor for beautiful, expressive eyes.
