Summary

The firstborn son of Gad and founder of a tribal family, also called Zephon.

☩Identity

Ziphion was the firstborn of the seven sons of Gad, Jacob's son by Zilpah. In Numbers 26:15 his name appears as Zephon, and his descendants are called Zephonites. The variation in spelling is typical of names preserved in different biblical manuscripts.
