Summary

Father of the blind beggar Bartimaeus who was healed by Jesus near Jericho.

The Healing of Bartimaeus

Timaeus is known only as the father of the blind beggar whom Jesus healed as He was leaving Jericho. His son is called Bartimaeus, meaning 'son of Timaeus' in Aramaic, suggesting that Timaeus may have been well known in the early Christian community. The healing of Bartimaeus is recorded in all three Synoptic Gospels, but only Mark preserves the name.
