Summary
Regem-melech was one of the men sent to inquire of the priests and prophets about continuing the fasts during the post-exilic period.
☩Inquiry About Fasting
In the fourth year of Darius, Bethel-sharezer and Regem-melech were sent to seek the Lord's favor and to ask whether the fasts commemorating Jerusalem's destruction should continue now that the temple was being rebuilt. Zechariah's response addressed the nature of true fasting.
