Summary

Mushi was the second son of Merari, the youngest son of Levi, whose descendants formed one of the two branches of the Merarite clan of Levites.

Levitical Lineage

Mushi was one of two sons of Merari, along with his brother Mahli. Through him came one of the two main branches of the Merarite Levites, known as the Mushites. Mushi had three sons, whose names are recorded in the genealogical lists. His descendants served in the Levitical duties assigned to the Merarites, which included caring for the frames, crossbars, posts, and bases of the tabernacle during the wilderness wanderings.
