Josibiah was the father of Jehu, who was one of the princes of Simeon mentioned in 1 Chronicles 4:35. These Simeonite leaders lived during the reign of King Hezekiah and led an expansion into the valley of Gedor and against the Amalekites at Mount Seir (1 Chronicles 4:39-43). The name means 'Yahweh causes to dwell.'
