Identity

Jezoar (also called Zohar in some versions) was a son of Helah, one of the wives of Ashur, who was called 'the father of Tekoa' (1 Chronicles 4:7). He was thus a descendant of Judah through Ashur. The name means 'whiteness' or 'he will be brought back.'
