יִסְכָּה/IS-kah/

She looks forth, or contemplative

Summary

The daughter of Haran and sister of Milcah, mentioned in Abraham's family genealogy.

Identity

Iscah was a daughter of Haran, Abraham's brother, making her Abraham's niece. She was sister to Milcah, who married Nahor (another of Abraham's brothers), and to Lot. Jewish tradition sometimes identified Iscah with Sarah, but this lacks scriptural support.
