Hothir was the thirteenth of Heman's fourteen sons (1 Chronicles 25:4). Heman was 'the king's seer' and a Kohathite Levite. Hothir and eleven kinsmen had charge of the twenty-first division of temple singers (1 Chronicles 25:28). His name means 'fullness' or 'preserver,' and he served around 1014 BC during David's organization of worship.
