Summary
Hemam (also called Homam) was a son of Lotan and grandson of Seir the Horite, whose descendants may have settled near the region south of Petra.

Hemam was a son of Lotan, the eldest son of Seir the Horite, the aboriginal inhabitants of the land of Edom before Esau's descendants conquered it. In 1 Chronicles 1:39, his name appears as Homam, a variant spelling. His name may be preserved in Homaima, a place south of Petra in the ancient territory of Edom.
