Elpaal

אֶלְפַּעַל/el-PAY-al/

God has wrought, or God is his wages

Summary

A Benjamite, son of Shaharaim by his wife Hushim, and progenitor of numerous descendants who settled near Lydda and Aijalon.

Family and Descendants

Elpaal was the second son of Shaharaim (a Benjamite who had lived in Moab) by his wife Hushim. He became the father of a numerous posterity whose descendants settled in the region near Lydda (Lod) and on the outposts of the Benjamite hills as far as Aijalon, near the Danite border. The intermarriage between the tribes is suggested by the fact that Hushim was also a name associated with a Danite family.
