Darkon

דַּרְקוֹן/DAR-kon/

Carrier or scatterer

Summary

A servant of Solomon whose descendants returned from the Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel.

Identity

Darkon's descendants were among 'Solomon's servants' who returned from Babylon. These were apparently descendants of Canaanite slaves whom Solomon employed in various capacities and who became incorporated into the Jewish community. The same family appears in both Ezra's and Nehemiah's lists of returnees.
