Chalcol was one of four sons of Mahol famous for their wisdom before Solomon's time. Scripture notes that Solomon's wisdom exceeded that of Chalcol and his brothers Ethan, Heman, and Darda. In Chronicles, he is listed among the sons of Zerah of the tribe of Judah.
