Summary

The son of Lot by his younger daughter, and ancestor of the Ammonites.

Origin of the Ammonites

After fleeing from Sodom, Lot's younger daughter bore a son whom she named Ben-ammi, meaning 'son of my people.' He became the ancestor of the Ammonites, who remained closely related to but often hostile toward Israel.
