Summary

The plural form of Baal, referring to the various local manifestations or images of the Canaanite deity.

Multiple Baals

Baalim refers either to multiple images of Baal set up in various locations or to the different local forms under which this deity was worshiped. The Israelites repeatedly forsook the Lord to serve Baalim and the Ashtaroth, the male and female deities of Canaan.
