Azur was the father of Hananiah, a prophet from Gibeon who falsely prophesied that Babylon's yoke would be broken within two years and the temple vessels and exiles returned.[1] Jeremiah confronted him, declaring that Hananiah would die that same year for prophesying falsely—which came to pass.
