A Horite, son of Dishan, one of the original inhabitants of Seir.

Horite Chief

Aran was a son of Dishan (or Dishon), who was a son of Seir the Horite. The Horites inhabited the land of Seir before the descendants of Esau dispossessed them. Aran's brother was Uz, whose name was also borne by the land where Job lived.
