Agee the Hararite was the father of Shammah, one of David's three chief warriors who performed exceptional feats of valor. Shammah distinguished himself by single-handedly defending a field of lentils against the Philistines when all other Israelites had fled, winning a great victory for Israel. The designation "Hararite" may indicate descent from a mountainous region or clan.
