Summary

The descendants of Dedan, an Arabian trading people whose caravans traversed the desert routes.

Identity

The Dedanim (or Dedanites) were descendants of Dedan, either through Cush or Keturah. Isaiah mentions 'the traveling companies of Dedanim' lodging in the forest in Arabia. They were traders and caravan merchants who used the desert routes between Arabia and Palestine.
