Scripture addresses the state of the dead, resurrection hope, and proper mourning for the deceased.
☩Biblical Teaching
The dead are described as resting, sleeping, or waiting for resurrection. 'The living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything.' Yet for believers, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Scripture prohibits consulting the dead and teaches resurrection: the dead in Christ shall rise first. All must appear before the judgment seat.
