“Village of fortune or enclosure of conflict”
Summary
Hazar-gaddah, meaning "village of fortune" or "enclosure of conflict," was a town on the southern border of Judah's territory.
☩Location
Hazar-gaddah is mentioned in the list of towns in Judah's southern district, situated between Moladah and Heshmon. Its exact location is uncertain. Some scholars following Jerome sought it near the Dead Sea, but the associated place names suggest a location further west, midway toward the Mediterranean.
