Location

Cabbon was a place in the lowland or 'plain' of Judah, mentioned between Eglon and Lahmam in the allotment of cities to the tribe of Judah. It is possibly the same as Machbenah mentioned in 1 Chronicles 2:49. The site may correspond to the modern ruined location el-Kufeir, situated about 10 miles southeast of Ashkelon.
