A name borne by two Gershonite Levites in the genealogies of 1 Chronicles.

Identity

Zimmah appears in the Levitical genealogies as a Gershonite, being identified as the son of Jahath and father of Joah in one passage, and as the son of Shimei in another. A second Zimmah was the father of Joah who served under Hezekiah in the cleansing of the Temple.
