Summary

One of the two kings of Midian pursued and executed by Gideon for killing his brothers at Tabor.

Defeat and Death

Zalmunna and Zebah were the two kings of Midian who escaped Gideon's initial rout with 15,000 men, all that remained of their eastern army of 135,000. Gideon pursued them across the Jordan, captured them at Karkor, and executed them personally after learning they had killed his brothers at Tabor. Their names became proverbial for defeated enemies.
