Jidlaph
יִדְלָף/JID-laff/
“He weeps or tearful”
☩Genealogical Record
Jidlaph is mentioned only in Genesis 22:22 as one of the eight sons born to Nahor by Milcah. Nahor was Abraham's brother, making Jidlaph Abraham's nephew and a cousin to Isaac. The name means 'weeping' or 'tearful,' though the reason for this designation is unknown. Like his brothers, Jidlaph became the ancestor of an Aramaean clan or tribe in the region of Mesopotamia where Nahor's family remained after Abraham departed for Canaan.
