Jekameam was the fourth in rank of the 'sons' of Hebron in the Levitical arrangement established by David (1 Chronicles 23:19; 24:23). As a descendant of Kohath through Hebron, he was head of a Levitical house responsible for temple service. His name may mean 'may the kinsman establish' or 'gatherer of the people.'
