☩Return from Exile
Jaala (also spelled Jaalah) was one of the Nethinim or 'servants of Solomon' whose descendants returned from the Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel (Nehemiah 7:58; Ezra 2:56). The two spellings represent the same name, with the variation reflecting a Chaldean influence on the final letter. The name appears in 1 Esdras 5:33 as 'Jeeli.'
