Ahilud
אֲחִילוּד/uh-HYE-luhd/
“Brother of one born, or child's brother”
Summary
The father of Jehoshaphat the recorder under David and Solomon, and possibly also father of Baana, one of Solomon's district officers.
☩Identity
Ahilud was the father of Jehoshaphat, who held the important office of 'recorder' (chronicler) in both David's and Solomon's administration. He may also have been the father of Baana, one of Solomon's twelve district superintendents, though some suggest this could be a different Ahilud.
