A Canaanite tribe mentioned in the Table of Nations, probably located in the far north near Lebanon.
☩Identity
The Sinites were one of the Canaanite peoples listed as descendants of Ham through Canaan in the Table of Nations. Their exact location is uncertain, though Jerome mentions a ruined city called Sin near Arka at the foot of Lebanon. The Targums identify them with Orthosia, a town on the coast northeast of Tripolis.
